After an extraordinary 43-year career in finance—including nine transformative years steering the ship at RedPeak—our Chief Financial Officer, Mark Techentien, has announced his retirement.
Mark has been a steady anchor for RedPeak. He successfully guided the company through complex economic landscapes and unlocked major strategic milestones. Beyond his sharp financial acumen, Mark lived and breathed the RedPeak values every single day. He acted as a trusted mentor, a collaborative teammate, and a true culture champion. As he prepares to step into his well-deserved next chapter, Mark shared some reflections on his journey:
As I look back on my career, I am filled with gratitude for the remarkable people who have been part of the journey. The past nine years at RedPeak have been especially meaningful. Together, we built more than a multi-family real estate company – we built a team grounded in trust, accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to living RedPeak’s core values every day.
When Mark joined RedPeak nearly a decade ago, he brought with him over thirty years of deep financial expertise. At RedPeak, he didn’t just manage budgets; he actively championed long-term growth and helped solidify RedPeak’s position as a leader in the multi-family real estate industry. Under his watch, the finance department evolved into a highly strategic, proactive arm of the company, capable of navigating both complex challenges and unique market opportunities. But for Mark, the true measure of success was never just about the bottom line—it was about the people. He invested heavily in mentorship, fostering an environment where team members were empowered to take ownership and excel. Reflecting on the group he leaves behind, Mark noted:
I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented finance professionals in the industry. Watching the finance team grow, overcome challenges, and consistently deliver exceptional results has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together and I have complete confidence that the RedPeak finance team will continue to thrive and achieve even greater success in the years ahead.
While the entire RedPeak family will deeply miss his daily presence, wisdom, and steady guidance, we are filled with immense gratitude for everything he has built here. We are incredibly excited to see him trade in corporate schedules for the well-deserved rewards of a phenomenal 43-year career.
