RedPeak Responsibility Forward Committee Volunteers at Re:Vision

Keep Work Fun Responsibility

On June 10th, members of the RedPeak Responsibility Committee spent the day volunteering at Re:Vision, to continue to live RedPeak’s mission to: Energize Communities. Bring People Together.

Re:Vision cultivates thriving, resilient communities by developing local leaders, growing community food systems, and building a locally-owned economy. Because Re:Vision believes in creating long-term solutions, they continue to be committed to the Backyard Garden program. Knowing the food access crisis (coupled with COVID-19) will not go away overnight, and there is a long road toward recovery, Re:Vision feels the gardens are more important now than ever. First, they can provide long-term food access solutions. Each garden is about 400 sq ft. and yields close to 400 lbs of fresh local produce for families, and with a network of 150 – 200 home gardens throughout SW Denver, that provides more than 75,000 lbs of fruits and vegetables in a neighborhood that otherwise has little access to fresh and healthy food. Second, it is a safe option for the entire family to get outside and get some fresh air while remaining committed to safe social distancing. Not to mention the mental health benefits of gardening and putting your hands in the dirt.

And that’s just what the RedPeak Team did, got their hands in the dirt by working in the one of Re:Vision’s gardens. Way to live our mission, Keep Work Fun and continue to give back to the community that has given so much to us
