RedPeak Responsibility Committee Organizes Hygiene Drive
During the month of May, RedPeak partnered with Denver Human Services to host a hygiene drive that included residents at all 50+ RedPeak communities as well as our Team Members.
Denver Human Services has the vision of a healthy community where each person is connected, supported, safe, and well. They partner with the Denver community to protect those in harm’s way and help all people in need. One in three people in Denver turn to Denver Human Services for support at all stages of life, with an average of 8,000 households served every month. Community connections are vital for creating a better future for every Denver resident, and Denver Human Services is committed to serving our growing community with equity, access and compassion. You may be surprised to learn that over 250,000 Denver residents receive services from Denver Human Services annually. For many of these fellow residents, securing consistent personal hygiene can be unaffordable and out of reach. The GIVE Center provides free hygiene items that help to relieve that burden, so that our Denver neighbors may maintain their health and dignity in times of hardship. From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Denver Human Services and the GIVE Center have worked tirelessly to keep services and essential items accessible to our most vulnerable residents. In 2021 alone, Denver Human Services provided 32,000 hygiene packs and 13,000 food items to vulnerable clients directly in the GIVE Center, as well as through the city’s COVID-19 emergency shelters and contracted motels that house many families struggling to make ends meet, all so that folks in need could maintain their dignity and health as they faced immense challenges in the pandemic. Clients across other Denver Human Services programs continued to have access to these items as well through caseworker requests and direct delivery from the GIVE Center team.
The eighth annual #BeAGiver Spring Showers Hygiene ran from May 2 – 31, 2022 and was open to all RedPeak residents and Team Members. We were thrilled to invest in a supported and connected future for every child, adult, and senior in need, and hopefully help make a difference in the lives of Denver residents who receive support from the GIVE Center every year. It is RedPeak’s mission to: Energize Communities. Bring People Together. Special thanks to our amazing residents for their incredible participation in the drive. Together, we can make a difference.
