RedPeak Partners with Move for Hunger to Fight Hunger in Denver

RedPeak is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Move for Hunger, a national hunger relief nonprofit organization. This collaboration aims to reduce food waste and combat hunger in the Denver community. At RedPeak, we are committed to Energizing Communities and Bringing People Together. This partnership with Move for Hunger aligns perfectly with our values. We believe that it is our responsibility to contribute to the well-being of our community, and we are proud to be a part of this initiative to fight hunger.

Move for Hunger has created a sustainable solution for the relocation industry to make a positive impact. Since 2009, they have delivered 50 million pounds of food to food banks across the United States and Canada. That’s the equivalent of more than 42 million meals. Through this partnership, we are enabling our residents to make a difference by donating their unopened, non-perishable food items that would otherwise be thrown away during their move-out process. These donations are then picked up by our Move for Hunger crew and are distributed to local food banks in Denver, ensuring that they reach those in need.

How it works: When moving out of a RedPeak apartment, residents now have an opportunity to make a difference and contribute to the Move for Hunger case by donating unopened, non-perishable food items to their RedPeak management office. A Move for Hunger team member then comes to collect the donations and makes sure they find their way to local food banks, nourishing hungry families in our community.

Why it matters: More than 47 million Americans face hunger every day including 1 in 5 children. Meanwhile, 38% of the food produced in the United States every year is wasted. Food waste is a big problem, but together, we can make a difference. By donating food, we’re not just helping our neighbors; we’re also reducing the environmental impact of food waste.

What Else? In addition to contributing donations during move-out, residents will also have the opportunity to donate to the cause through RedPeak hosted Move for Hunger food drives throughout the year. This will include opportunities during the holidays and other thoughtful food drives throughout the year.
