2024 RedPeak Summit Award Winners Announced

At RedPeak, we are committed to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our team members who Own It year-round. In 2024, we were thrilled to introduce the brand new RedPeak Summit Awards, a newly reimagined award program that builds upon the legacy of our historic Impact Awards. Designed to align with our strategic initiatives and provide even more meaningful recognition, the RedPeak Summit Awards honor those who go above and beyond in living RedPeak’s mission to Energize Communities and Bring People Together. These peer nominations, combined with metrics-driven results and Portfolio Director selections, form the basis of the RedPeak Summit Awards. The outpouring of nominations this year filled us with immense pride, a true testament to the amazing talent and commitment we share at RedPeak. This year, the very first RedPeak Summit Award winners were announced and celebrated in style at our annual New Year Kick-Off party on January 17th, 2025.
From game-changing innovation to unwavering community support, explore the eight distinct categories of the RedPeak Summit Awards, meet the inspiring winners, and discover the impactful contributions they’ve made across various areas of our company.

1. Rookie of the Year

The Rookie of the Year Award celebrates RedPeak’s newest standouts – those who, within their first year, have showcased exceptional initiative and creativity, making a significant and impactful contribution to the company. This peer-nominated award recognizes individuals for bringing fresh energy, quick adaptation, and dedication to shaping RedPeak’s future. This award shines a light on the rising star who exemplifies our culture and leaves an undeniable mark in their first 12 months. It is with great honor to recognize Kevin Krumtum as this year’s Rookie of the Year.

Kevin Krumtum, HVAC & Plumbing Service Manager- “Since joining RedPeak in February, Kevin and his team have made significant contributions to the company, both financially and in terms of asset preservation. He has successfully completed the City of Denver’s Master Mechanical test and now holds three supervisor licenses. Kevin has played a huge role in building the RedPeak Mechanical Team, and together, they have developed and implemented a comprehensive in-house Preventative Maintenance program for our central plant-style buildings, eliminating the need for third-party contractors for these services. Under Kevin’s leadership, the Mechanical team has achieved incredible savings in HVAC and major plumbing costs.”

2. Home Office Hero

The Home Office Hero Award is peer-nominated, recognizing individuals who go above and beyond to drive success across our organization. These exceptional team members actively contribute to the development of new programs and processes that enhance operational efficiency and drive company growth. They consistently deliver measurable results, while generously sharing their knowledge and expertise with colleagues. They act as a mentor to their peers, sharing knowledge and resources to help others develop their skills and succeed in their roles. We are thrilled to announce Janna Naugle as the Home Office Hero.

Janna Naugle, Learning Manager- Janna takes “investing in each other” to heart, going above and beyond in every interaction and site visit. She consistently leaves a lasting positive impact, brightening the day of everyone she encounters. Her wealth of on-site knowledge, paired with her deep understanding of RedPeak’s systems, makes her an invaluable bridge for team members transitioning into the company. The ongoing training she’s implemented for our seasoned team members has been a true game changer. Janna works closely with the Systems team to identify training opportunities and create relevant classes based on those insights. The collaboration between the Learning and Systems teams has provided us with a deeper understanding of our team members’ needs, something we’ve never had before.”

 

3. Resident Service Award

The Resident Service Award celebrates the individual who truly embodies RedPeak’s mission to Energize Communities and Bring People Together. This prestigious peer-nominated award recognizes someone whose actions create a ripple effect of positive impact, touching the lives of residents, suppliers, and fellow team members alike. They make every interaction easy and enjoyable, consistently going above and beyond to serve others with a smile. This is more than just service; it’s a passion, a dedication to fostering community and strengthening our culture. This individual personifies service with heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone they encounter.

Mercedes Estevez, Housekeeper- “”We love Mercedes!” and “Omg Mercedes is the best!” are frequent phrases you hear around 7/S. she is working with a smile and always stops to greet residents. She has formed clear connections with people, remembering about recent trios they went on, asking how their day was, or stopping to chat about her son and family to those who ask and listen. Aside from her infectious positive energy and interactions with residents, she cares for her team. She Invests in others, Owns her role, and energizes the Sherman community.”

 

4. Service Team Member of the Year

The Service Team Member of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional service team member who embodies the spirit of teamwork and dedication. This Manager and Supervisor-nominated award acknowledges that this individual maintains open communication, providing valuable feedback that drives the company forward. They consistently exceed expectations with high-quality work, going the extra mile and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to embrace additional responsibilities. Proactively identifying and resolving issues, they take initiative and demonstrate a commitment to excellence. A true mentor, they support their colleagues and foster a positive team environment by recognizing and celebrating achievements. This award honors a teammate whose contributions elevate the entire team. We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Service Team Member of the Year award resulted in an overwhelming tie, recognizing two truly outstanding team members. Congratulations to Michael Oblander and Walter “Kiko” Evans for being recognized at the 2024 Service Team Members of the Year.

Michael Oblander, Maintenance Technician, West Central Team– “Mike’s exceptional connection with residents is evident in his ability to know them, their pets, and even their vehicles – a testament to his genuine care and dedication. He’s become an invaluable presence at the west central hub. Mike’s proactive approach has also saved the company money on several occasions, as he willingly takes on extra tasks, sometimes requiring gentle reminders to prioritize his core responsibilities. Beyond his commitment to residents, Mike consistently demonstrates his appreciation for his team, often treating them to breakfast and always making himself available, even outside of work hours.”

Walter “Kiko” Evans, Maintenance Technician, Steele Central Team– “Kico has completed 667 work orders this year, a remarkable achievement that underscores his efficiency, reliability, and commitment to excellence. His ability to handle a high volume of work orders without compromising quality is a testament to his expertise and work ethic. Kico’s leadership extends far beyond his role as a technician. He is consistently sought after by team members for guidance and advice on difficult problems. New team members benefit greatly from his mentorship, as Kico takes the time to ensure they are fully supported and confident in their work. He was mentioned in a 5-star review that stated, “Kico is very respectful, professional, efficient, and communicative. I really appreciate how my maintenance issue was completed in such a timely manner, and how Kico kept me updated throughout the entire process. Thanks, Kico!” Kico has made a lasting impact on our team.”

 

5. Community Team Member of the Year

The Community Team Member of the Year Award, nominated by managers and supervisors, celebrates an exceptional leader who cultivates a warm and welcoming environment for both prospective and current residents. This individual consistently goes above and beyond for their team, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Their dedication is often reflected in resident reviews and feedback. A true champion for change, they enthusiastically embrace new systems and readily share their expertise and best practices, driving team success. This respected and shining star is a go-to resource for their colleagues, embodying the qualities of an outstanding community leader. We are proud to award Roselle Manilay the Community Team Member of the Year Award.

Roselle Manilay, Operations Manager, DTC Central Team– “Rose is my right hand, my back bone, my support and my biggest cheerleader when needed. She is the delinquency queen, both at DTC and for the previous HUBS she worked at. While Rose’s efforts with delinquency are easy to track, what is even more marvelous to see  is how quickly she will jump in to help any of her teammates with any task. During the peak of summer when work orders were starting to pile up, Rose was the first person in the office to volunteer to learn how to re-key doors and storage units and was first person to grab a broom and clean up spider webs throughout the community to get grounds done. She is always laughing and having a good time with us in the office. She is a force to be reckoned with at DTC and we couldn’t be more blessed to have Rose on the team and being the team player that she is.”

 

6. Service Supervisor of the Year Award

The Maintenance Supervisor of the Year Award celebrates an exceptional leader within our portfolio, nominated by Portfolio Directors, who excels in expense management, team development, and quality and delivery. This individual consistently operates within budget, implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety. They are a champion for their team, fostering growth through effective training programs, regular feedback, and mentorship, encouraging career advancement and a positive work environment. This award recognizes the Service Supervisor who not only possesses strong technical skills but also demonstrates outstanding leadership, positively impacting their team and the overall success of their portfolio. We are thrilled to announce Andy Frick as the 2024 Service Supervisor of the Year.

Andy Frick, Service Supervisor, Steele Central Team– “Andy’s performance in 2024 has been nothing short of outstanding. He has completed 2,271 work orders year-to-date, with an impressive average turn time of just five days. He plays a critical role in ensuring the financial stability of Steele Central by working closely with his team. Andy is a patient and compassionate leader, guiding both his team and residents through some of the toughest situations. This speaks volumes about his character and the loyalty he inspires in those who work alongside him. Andy is always willing to lend a helping hand and truly makes a lasting impact on the community and residents he serves.”

 

7. Community Manager of the Year

The Community Manager of the Year Award shines a spotlight on an extraordinary leader, nominated by Portfolio Directors, who embodies excellence across crucial areas: audit performance, strategic execution, team empowerment, resident satisfaction, online reputation, and community connection. This individual doesn’t just meet expectations—they exceed them, consistently achieving top-tier audit scores and surpassing business plan objectives. A dynamic force for positive change, they inspire their team, acting as a mentor and cultivating a thriving environment where learning and achievement are celebrated. With a laser focus on resident experience, they consistently garner stellar reviews (4.0 stars and above!), fostering a strong sense of community. This award honors the Community Manager who masterfully balances operational excellence with genuine care for their team and residents, creating a community where everyone thrives. Not only was this individual nominated for Community Manager of the Year, they were also nominated by their peers for the Rookie of the Year award. It is with great honor that RedPeak recognizes Nicole Mabanag as the 2024 Community Manager of the Year.

Nicole Mabanag, Multi-Site Community Manager, Colorado Central Team– “In one year, she has built and invested in a stellar team that is making a massive impact at both the properties under Colorado Blvd. She turned around the culture at her properties through leading her team with compassion, dedication and commitment to success. In addition, within her year at Redpeak, she took 180 Flats to an occupancy level we haven’t seen in years! She embodies the culture of RedPeak, and it shows daily. Nicole invests in her team, and cares deeply for their success, both personally and professionally. She is invested in her communities and her residents.”

 

8. Community of the Year

The Community of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional team that sets the standard for excellence in key areas: operational performance (audits), strategic goal achievement, collaborative teamwork, resident satisfaction, online reputation, and community engagement. This high-performing team consistently surpasses expectations, achieving top-tier audit results and exceeding business plan objectives. A driving force for positive change, they inspire and support one another, cultivating a thriving environment where growth and success are celebrated. Dedicated to resident experience, they consistently earn outstanding reviews (4.0 stars and above!), fostering a strong and connected community. This award honors the Community team that masterfully blends operational proficiency with genuine care for their residents, creating a place where everyone feels at home. It is with great honor to award the Steele Central HUB with the 2024 Community of the Year Award!
