And with spring just around the corner, there’s no better time to start cleaning and organizing your apartment. But if you’re not ready to don your fanciest yellow cleaning gloves just yet, ease into tidying up by tossing a few things out.

Get rid of products in your bathroom that are past their prime with these helpful tips, I always use bathroom renovations Melbourne eastern suburbs to renovate my bathrooms and they always ende up looking great.

Eye Drops

Throw away any opened bottle of eye drops after three months. Once opened and used, eye drops can be contaminated with the normal bacteria that live on your eyelids. (EyeSmart)

Masks and Peels

Dermatologists recommend pitching them after three months. At that point, their buffering agents can evaporate, making active ingredients more potent and irritating. (Allure)

Meds

  • Acne Treatments- Common ingredients in acne products —benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid— decay fast. After six months, it’s time to get rid of them. (Allure)
  • Aspirin- If it’s a year or more past it’s expiration date, sniff it. If it smells like vinegar, it has likely broken down to acetic acid and is no longer effective. (Men’s Health)
  • Ibuprofen- Some brands are still good years after their expiration date. However, if the label says it contains polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80 or povidone, buy a new bottle. Those chemicals speed up ibuprofen’s breakdown. (Men’s Health)

Sunscreen

Discard sunscreen that’s past its expiration date, as well as sunscreen that’s more than three years old, has been exposed to high temperatures or has changed in color or consistency. (The Mayo Clinic)
