Denver Jazz Fest This inaugural event features several artists, including jazz keyboardist Brian Culbertson, R&B singer Kenny Lattimore, soul and funk act Tower of Power, and Los Angeles-based ensemble Hiroshima, who blends jazz, pop, and rock with traditional Japanese folk music and instruments.

Hot Chocolate 15/5K Runners in “America’s Sweetest Race” at Civic Center Park get hot chocolate and chocolate fondue. A 15-minute mile pace is required for both the 5K and 15K races. Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver.

SCFD Community Free Days Don’t miss your next-to-last chance to visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science free of charge this year. (The last day to do so will be Dec. 9.) From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., check out the museum’s gems and rocks, dinosaur bones, mummies and more. Kids will be especially fond of special free day activities, which include face painting, tours, and scavenger hunts.
