Friday

Scream Scram This nighttime Halloween-themed 5K walk/run in Washington Park kicks off with an orange carpet event, where costumed attendees will compete for awards in several categories, including Best Individual, Best Family and Best Pet. After the race, participants can hang out on Trick-or-Treat Street for yummy food, award presentations and prize drawings!

Pinktober Concert Series The headline event for Pinktober 2014 is a special concert with Coles Whalen. Admission is a suggested $5, which benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Denver Affiliate, as Pinktober is Hard Rock’s campaign for breast cancer awareness.

The Bro Show This three-day show at The Denver Mart endeavors to put everything a man needs under a single roof. Basically, it’s a one-stop shop for “masculine” merch and information featuring gadgets and technology, cars, fishing and hunting experts, sporting equipment, suit fittings, beer brewing tips and more. Tickets start at $12. Hours are 5-10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. (We expect lots of grunting and chest bumps.)

Saturday

Denver Zombie Crawl Held at Skyline Park, this crawl is aiming to be the largest zombie gathering in history. For makeup and costume help, show up at noon. That way you’ll definitely be ready for the zombie crawl parade down 16th Street at 4 p.m. Costume contests begin at 5:30 p.m. at the park, and after parties at City Hall start at 6 p.m. Get your ghoul on!

Sunday

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon This year’s race travels a new route, heading into the Highlands and west all the way to Sloan’s Lake, with loops around City Lake Park and Washington Park. The race ends downhill on 14th Avenue and into Civic Center Park. The 2014 headliner is The Wild Feathers and, of course, Denver bands will be playing all along the race course.
