Friday

Downtown Denver Arts Festival This three-day fest at the Denver Performing Arts Complex will have more than 150 Colorado artists on hand, as well as a select group of artists from around the country. Last year, the event attracted almost 150,000 people who purchased more than $500,000 worth of art! Admission is free.

Saturday

Denver Day of Rock For the sixth year in a row, the 16th Street mall will host food vendors, beer gardens, and more than two dozen rock concerts between 2:20 and 9:30 p.m. However, the fun kicks off a day early this year, with a concert featuring The Wallflowers at Skyline Park Friday evening.

ArtStir Denver As its name implies, this marketplace will showcase works sure to stir up the artist in all of us. It’ll be held along Glenarm Place between 15th and 16th streets, and feature a mix of paintings, sculptures, photography, illustrations, textiles, furnishings, and other locally designed goods.

Denver Flea The first-ever Denver Fleas starts at 2 p.m. at City Park’s southwest corner! Expect more than 60 vendors, including local artisans, designers and makers, as well as vintage items, repurposed furniture, food trucks, and craft beer tents.

Veterans Memorial Day Tribute Remember those who lost their lives while serving our country at the Denver Memorial Day Parade, which kicks off downtown at 11:30 a.m., and makes its way in and around Civic Center Park. The parade is followed by a tribute at the Veterans Monument. During the ceremony, veterans who never received their medals are honored through the Forgotten Heroes campaign.

Monday

BolderBoulder 10K Run this race —a Boulder tradition since 1979— and feel a little less guilty about all the barbecue you’re going to eat. Run fast or run for fun. After all, this race has more sub-minute runners than any other in the country. It also has jog, jog/walk, and walking waves to give first-timers a taste of “the pure joy of running.” Tributes to servicemen and women, a flyover and music round out the event, which is always held on Memorial Day.
