Mark Friday: Construct An integral part of Denver’s art scene for decades, Mark Friday uses found and fabricated objects to create his unique sculptures. Today is the last day to catch his exhibition at ArtHaus, but you can still register for his weekend workshop (on January 25 and 26), where participants will create illuminated sculptures under the artist’s guidance.
Kwanzaa at ZooLights Head to the Denver Zoo’s Celebration Pavillion for African drumming, dancing and storytelling– and twinkling lights, of course! It’s all included in the ZooLights fee ($6-$12) and runs through December 30.
The Nutcracker Transport yourself to the Land of Sweets! This seasonal show features classic choreography paired with Tchaikovsky’s extraordinary arrangement performed by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. New Year’s Psychic Fair Find out what 2014 has in store for you at this three-day fair. Hosted at Isis Books & Gifts, the fair takes place today, tomorrow and Saturday, January 4, and includes tarot card and tea leaf readings, palmistry, and aural photography. Admission is free, but services carry a fee.
