Denver Weekend Rundown: 4th of July 2013 Edition

Independence Eve This event features a patriotic Colorado Symphony concert, light show and fireworks display at 8 p.m. at Denver’s Civic Center Park.


Independence Day Celebration Elitch Gardens will light up the Downtown Denver skyline with a fireworks show starting at 9 p.m.

Fireworks Games Spend an all-American holiday watching America’s pastime as the Colorado Rockies take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field. The game starts at 6:10 p.m.

Old Fashioned July Fourth Celebration This event at Four Mile Historic Park will include visits from Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson and Uncle Sam, the reading of the Declaration of Independence, and performances by the Denver Concert Band and other area musicians.

Liberty Run Before binging on barbecue, burn some calories at this four-mile walk/run at Washington Park. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m., the race starts an hour later. 


Cherry Creek Arts Festival This three-day event in the Cherry Creek North Shopping District celebrates the visual, culinary, and performing arts. Festivalgoers can meet international visual artists, sample fine cuisine, and enjoy live musical performances and artist demonstrations.
