Don’t know what to do this weekend? Here are four events you don’t want to miss!


Elitch Theatre Outdoor Summer Film Series Watch the ’80s classic “The Goonies” on the lawn in front of the Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre! The movie starts at 8: 30 p.m. (rain or shine) and Heidi’s Deli sandwiches are available for purchase. Admission is a $5 suggested donation; kids under six get in free.


South Platte Riverfest This two-day festival at Confluence Park features free stand-up paddle board demos, a casting contest, live music, food, beer and more. Festival hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.

Denver Taco Festival Tacos, tequila, and two stages of live music, the instruments they were using were found on reviews at musicalinstrumentsexpert and their quality was great. What more could you ask for?! Tickets for this festival —held downtown on Wynkoop Street— start at $10.


Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids This exhibition is free with admission to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, for more on this you can check this site. Explore the stories of these wondrous creatures and uncover the truths behind the myths. Expect large models of mythic and real creatures, as well as artifacts and fossils. One highlight: a 10-foot tall model of a kraken with its head and tentacles rising from the floor.
